2012 Adopted Dogs

"Madonna" came to us on September 28, 2012 from Bristol. Her time was up at the Dog Catcher, so that meant that this beautiful little puppy would be no more. We couldn't let that happen. She was born about the middle of June, making her only about three and a half months old.

She's a beautiful little girl who wishes for a family to run and play with, and to sleep at someone's feet to whom she can give her undying gratitude and loyalty. We hope she finds that home soon.

On December 31, 2012, Madonna was adopted to a home in Fredericton. Madonna's new family includes two other dogs and a pygmy goat! Congratulations, Madonna! Please send us family photos! Happy New Year!

Meet "Stretch." She came from Bedell on December 17, 2012, as her elderly owners could no longer care for her. She has gastro-intestinal problem, but she'll be just fine with the proper diet. She's a German Shepherd who is about four years old.

She's very nice, loving, friendly and active. She is also very well behaved, and listens to each spoken word as though it's meant only for her.

On December 22, 2012, we learned that Stretch will have a home in Lakeville where she'll have the life she truly deserves. Congratulations, Stretch! Merry Christmas!

"Crocket," a little Beagle, came to DunRoamin' on November 6, 2012 from the Florenceville area where he had not turned out to be the dog his owners wanted, so they were looking for ways to get rid of him. None of the ways were in his best interest.

He is about one year old, loves other dogs, cats and kids and he's house-trained. He's a sweetheart who would like a chance to have a real family.

On December 4, 2012, Crocket went to his new home in Fredericton with his forever family who will give him the life he truly deserves. What a wonderful Christmas present for everyone! Congratulations, Crocket, Barb and Brian. Please stop in and visit when you're back up.

This is "Smithers." He and his eight siblings came to us from the Perth-Andover area on October 15, 2012, where they were the product of one stray female dog who was not spayed. They have been dewormed, treated for parasites and have been given their first vaccination. They were born about the middle of September, 2012.

On November 14, 2012, Smithers and his two siblings (see below) went to the Oromocto SPCA to find their forever homes. On November 26, 2012, he got his forever home in Lincoln. Congratulations, Smithers! Have a great life!

On November 14, 2012 Little Seymour went to the Oromocto SPCA to find his forever home, and on November 26 he became an official resident of Fredericton. Congratulations, Seymour!

This is "Milhouse." He and his eight siblings came to us from the Perth-Andover area on October 15, 2012, where they were the product of one stray female dog who was not spayed. They have been dewormed, treated for parasites and have been given their first vaccination. They were born about the middle of September, 2012.

Since there was a possibility that they had been exposed to a virus, they were quarantined and cared for. On October 26, 2012, their quarantine was lifted - they're perfect and perfectly healthy!

On November 10, 2012 Milhouse met a young lady from Avondale who immediately was taken by his supreme cuteness. He's got the home he deserves! Thank you so much! Write often, Milhouse!

This is "Wiggum." He and his eight siblings came to us from the Perth-Andover area on October 15, 2012, where they were the product of one stray female dog who was not spayed.

On November 10, 2012 Wiggum was introduced to a young lady from Havelock, NB. They immediately fell for each other, and he now lives happily with her everafter. Congratulations! Don't forget to write!

"McGruber" came to us on October 24, 2012. He had been struck by a vehicle in the Grafton area and severely damaged his left hind leg. As a result, he required surgery to repair it.

McGruber was fostered by a kind lady in the Woodstock area. He required strict exercise restriction for about a month to allow his leg to heal properly. He was vaccinated and neutered. He loves cats, dogs, kids and going in the car, as well as stuffed animals and toys. He's very attentive to his human and loves them unconditionally. He was born about September, 2009.

On November 8, 2011, McGruber was welcomed into the home of a very nice gentleman from Perth-Andover. McGruber will be his constant companion and already loves the big white truck! Congratulations, McGruber! Send lots of photos!

"Walnut" came to DunRoamin' on September 26, 2012 when she was found in a box taped shut on the steps of a shelter. She's approximately 10 years old and is a Pomeranian. She was scared and confused but was comfortable in a kennel.

Walnut had several cancerous tumours on her belly which had to be surgically removed. She also had several teeth in very poor condition which required veterinary attention. Walnut was not very trusting until she knew for a fact that she could trust you. Who wouldn't have trust issues after what she's been through?

On November 6, 2012, Walnut was adopted to a home in Florenceville where she'll get the love, care and attention she deserves. We're happy that you've finally found your place, little one. Congratulations.

"Shirley" came to us on November 5, 2012 from the Glassville area where she had been obtained as a friend for a larger dog. When the larger dog decided it didn't like her, it was time for Shirley to be gone.

Fortunately, she was rescued by a kind gentleman who couldn't see anything bad happen to her. She's only about three months old and is a beautiful little girl.

On November 6, 2012 Shirley met her new family. She now lives in Southampton where she's appreciated for the special puppy she is. Congratulations on finding the perfect family.

"Burdock" was found wandering on the road in Riverbank on October 10, 2012. Attempts to find his family were unsuccessful, and he was due to be euthanized by animal control. Of course we couldn't let that happen. He's only about a year old, and he's a very nice boy.

On November 5, 2012, with the help of our friends from Paw and Order in Keswick Ridge, NB, Burdock found himself in the best circumstances of his life: he got a family in Quispamsis! He is extremely well loved by his new family and is grateful for all the assistance he received from the many people who gave him this chance at a new life. Congratulations to you and your new family, Burdock! Please send us some famiy photos.

"Manley" came to us on October 1, 2012 from Grand Falls where he had been kept in one room for most of his life. It had rarely been cleaned. Manley appears to have never been able to run and play outside, and he was very awkward in his attempts to do so, but with the help of his foster mother and canine foster friends, he learned very well. He's about six months old and apparently has Great Dane in him, and he weighs about 65 pounds at this young age of only fourmonths.

Manley required three baths to make his presence tolerable, and he has gained much co-ordination. He loves to learn new things and has the schedule at his foster home down pat already. His tail has been broken at some point in his short life, but he loves running and playing and being able to go to the bathroom outdoors!

On October 22, 2012 he went to learn some doggie skills at Paw and Order in Fredericton. On October 29, he was adopted by a lady from Grand Manan. Congratulations, Manley! Thanks, Paw and Order!

On October 27, 2012, Mr Burns was adopted by a young lady who lives in Charlottetown, PEI. Have a great time on The Island, Mr Burns!

They were dewormed, treated for parasites and have been given their first vaccination. They were born about the middle of September, 2012.

Since there was a possibility that they had been exposed to a virus, they were quarantined and cared for. On October 26, 2012, their quarantine was lifed - they're perfect and perfectly healthy!

On October 27, 2012, she was adopted by a young couple from Fredericton. Thank you so much for giving her a great home. Congratulations, Marge!

On October 26, 2012, Maggie and her brother Ned (see below) were both chosen as the newest members of a couple in Kingsclear where they'll enjoy canoeing on the lake! Congratulations to everyone! Please send photos!

This is "Ned." He and his eight siblings came to us from the Perth-Andover area on October 15, 2012, where they were the product of one stray female dog who was not spayed. They have been dewormed, treated for parasites and have been given their first vaccination. They were born about the middle of September, 2012.

Since there was a possibility that they had been exposed to a virus, they were quarantined and cared for. On October 26, 2012, their quarantine was lifed - they're perfect and perfectly healthy!

On October 27, 2012, Ned and his sister Maggie (see above) were both chosen as the newest members of a couple in Kingsclear where they'll enjoy canoeing on the lake! Congratulations to everyone! Please send photos!

"Francois" came to DunRoamin' on October 16, 2012 from the Tobique area. He's about nine weeks old and is a Terrier mix. He had a bad ear infection, but is otherwise healthy. Francois is very active and loves people.

On October 22, 2012, Francois was adopted. Today is the first day of the rest of his life!

"Honda" came to us on October 5, 2012 from Coldstream. He had fleas and was very thin. He had been knocking kids over in his first home and was unwanted. He's just an exuberant puppy, and this is nothing a little time, training and exercise won't cure.

Honda is a very nice Shepherd mixed-breed pup and is very kind and loving. He's also very smart. He knows "stay," "get off," will sit to get a treat, will fetch a ball and bring it back, loves to have a nap in his crate, and is almost completely housebroken. He can do stairs no problem, and knows when he hears the word "house" that it's time to go inside. He still has some puppy antics, of course, but he's still a puppy, so that's the way it should be. He's anxious for his own permanent home.

On October 5, 2012, he was adopted by a loving familiy in Tracey Mills where he'll live happily ever after. Congratulations, Honda!

"Gemma" came to DunRoamin' on September 7, 2012 from the Juniper area where people there were threatening to shoot her because she was unwanted. Gemma is great with kids, and is very loving, playful and affectionate. She's about six months old and would love to be a member of a family, especially if they have children for her to play with.

On September 29, 2012, Gemma was adopted by a family in Fredericton. As you can tell by the photo, she's well loved, and has the kids she's always wished for. Congratulations to all!

"Fleecy" came to DunRoamin' on September 7, 2012 from the Woodstock area where her owners had decided she should be euthanized. She's only about five years old and is a German Shepherd with a wonderful personality. She had fleas and her hair was falling out on her chest, stomach and paws.

Fleecywas put on antibiotics and steroidal antihistamines for itchiness. She was fine in no time at all, and quickly showed herself to be affectionate, intelligent and very loving.

On September 25, 2012, Fleecy was adopted by a couple in the Plaster Rock area. Congratulations on your new life, Fleece! Please write home often!

"Bernice" came to DunRoamin' on August 31, 2012. She was originally from the Beechwood area where she frequently was outdoors where she would insert herself into altercations with porcupines. Unfortunately, no matter how hard she tried, she was never on the winning end of these bouts. She was born about January, 2008, and is a very nice St Bernard. Due to several factors, she was surrendered to DunRoamin'.

This last time, she had more than 100 quills in her face, nose, eyelids, cheeks, chin and neck - so many that it looked like she had a beard. She was also full of burdocks, and vet staff spent much time removing them from her coat and tail. Thanks to the skills of the Florenceville Vet Clinic staff she is now free of quills and burdocks and will no longer experience the pain.

On September 8, 2012, a family from Woodstock was introduced to her, and she was quickly given the green light to become their next family member. She now lives with her new family which includes two young children and two ex-DunRoamin' cats. Go easy on the big dog, Kilo and Jazz! Congratulations!

"Anthony Weiner" came to us from the Centreville area on September 6, 2012, where he had been rescued by the SPCA. He had rotten teeth, fleas and a bad skin infection on his back. He's about ten years old.

On September 6, 2012, Anthony was adopted by a family near Florenceville where he'll live out the rest of his years in bliss. Congratulations on your new life, Anthony. May it hold nothing but the very best.

"Victor" came to us from the Centreville area on September 6, 2012, where he had been rescued by the SPCA. He's a six-month old Shepherd who had really bad fleas and was really scared. He was fostered by a dog lover in Woodstock who taught him that everything would now be fine and that he'd be okay.

On September 6, 2012, he was adopted by a family in Limestone, ME who fell in love and couldn't wait to make him a family member. Congratulations, Victor.

"Kira" came to us from the Mainstream area on August 15, 2012 where she had been rescued from an abusive situation. However, her rescuers were unable to keep her because they work shift work and are rarely home to provide the kind of life a dog requires and deserves.

Kira is about three years old and loves cats, dogs and kids. She has a wonderful personality, although she's initially quite timid until she realizes that she's safe - then she's the life of the party! She was fostered in Woodstock until . . .

. . . August 18, 2012 when she met a lady from Centreville who fell in love with her. Kira now lives with her and her other DunRoamin' dog, as well as one cat. Congratulations, Kira!

"Toots" came to us on August 3, 2012 when she was brought in to be euthanized. She was about nine years old, had an eye condition and required a dental cleaning and a few extractions, but she was otherwise happy and healthy. Our vets recognized that this little girl is still full of life, and with a little care, can live happily and in very good health for quite some time. Why should that not happen? It was requested that she be turned over to DunRoamin'. Her owners agreed.

Toots is a very sweet and happy nine-year old dog. She loves people and other dogs and she's currently fostered by an amazing foster mother who already has taken in two dogs of similar breed. The three are already best friends, and it's the best place Toots could possibly be. We're grateful that she's gotten this second chance and we hope she finds a permanent home very soon.

On August 10, 2012 we learned that Toots had been promoted from foster dog to permanent family member. She now lives in Woodstock. Congratulations on your new family!

On December 19, 2010 two dogs came to DunRoamin' from the Tilley area.  "Dreyfus" was one of them.  He appeared to be a Newfoundland/Shepherd mix, and he was a healthy and friendly boy.  He's about four to six years of age, and is a real sweetheart.  He weighed 96 pounds, and is the biggest softie you'll ever meet.  He loves people, and he certainly loves other dogs.

He stayed with Dr Drost until a foster family or a permanent family could be found for him, but due to his loving and unique personality . . .

. . . it was easy to see that he would be a permanent family member. On July 30, 2012, it became official. He now lives in Riverbank with his forever family. Congratulations, Dreyf!

On July 13, 2012, "Margaret" was taken in by the Arthurette Shelter. She had an extreme number of fleas, hair loss and a broken hip. The hip injury was not new, so she'd been suffering for quite some time with the pain of it. As the result of several factors, she was accepted by DunRoamin' and she underwent surgery to repair her hip. Margaret is doing very well and is already touching her toe to the ground in an attempt to use her leg - something she was completely unable to do when she arrived. And she's no longer in pain.

Margaret is a Lab mixed-breed dog and is only about six months old. She loves people and loves to talk to you. Even as she was being examined and x-rayed, she showed a beautiful and remarkable personality.

On July 25, 2012, Margaret's new life began. She now lives in Bath where she'll live happily every after. Congratulations!

"Kub" was returned to DunRoamin' on June 4, 2012 as her owners had split up and she no longer had a home. She was born about the first of July, 2011, and had come to us on August 5, 2011 when her original owners had placed an ad on Kijiji stating that if she and her six siblings were not gone by the evening, they would be "gone." A kind and compassionate DunRoamin' supporter had saved her and her family, all of whom eventually found loving homes.

Kub is a sweetheart. She loves people, cats and other dogs, and is very easy to get along with. She's happy to have lots of people to give her affection right now, as she's not quite sure what's happening. She's hoping that she'll be a
